Triumph

A feeble swagger of sorts.

Disheveled visionary.

Whimsical entrapment of artisan flow.

The shout of victory. Tainted zeal when left to devices

Voices claim the color scheme and resonate in time.

Borrowed words multiply and fill the canvas

until the color palette is dry and the inkwell remains

for the parchment has many characteristics, as do we.

However, the wise take to the artisan’s ways

It takes just a heartbeat to know you've fallen in love.

My heartbeat sped up the last time we danced.

Harder than the other millions of beats my heart have ever pounded.

A beat without the drum.

All in rythm, all in order

It was the sound of love, my sound of life.

We embraced it completely. The thought of it make my heart cringed.

You let me cross your heart, but I burdened it.

I tied your beautiful heart up with the ugly ribbon, and I sold it.

You fell forever more, and you're gone.

Then you littered my head with madness.

My heart should be beating, but it's not.

I must admit I'm tired of saying I'm empty.

For once I realize, I have no more breath.

Velvet gloves feel like sandpaper,

sateen and silk become chemically

complexed in denial, compared to

a mere thought of the touch of his hands,

felt in the sound of his voice.

Lace and Oranza dream of the black

T-shirt glamour and change colour

by the hour with envy: they fail to feel

the Khaki's company that suit the man

they like to impress, to cover him with

kisses or to uncover his latest and greatest

adventures; taking off the tightest of his

play-boyish vacuum tight wrapping, no matter what flavor, as long as it feels just like the original.

"Thanks Miss, $8,50. Will you need a bag?"

She wakes from her daydream, her eye-candy lover goes up in air as she takes off the ice cream's cellophane cover. A perfect excuse, SHE knows her priorities

I would have taken a flight,

Miles and miles,
Just to see your smiles

We were so in love
Never felt like this before
Every moment spent with you
Etched in my heart to the core

Sam Witwicky's sweet ride is bumble bee,

But your love was the only thing I could see.
My mind was always playing our music blips,
When I kissed your sweet frosting lips.

You wrapped me in your arms

Felt like a perfect love affair

To the shiny stars that surround a happy Cloud Nine,

As the adjudicators count your millions of votes as well as mine!

Your idea is deliciously delightful, well thought out and planned,

A way to link the world when it is too big to hold each others’ hand.

Opening your arms to embrace the world to make it a better place,

Clearly emerges as your target as you eloquently make your case.

And it is an idea that I watched and listened to with most intrigue,

White Lights

Uncommon to most, unwise to all,

she dressed in white robes in this sullied world.

Mocked and ridiculed for the choice she made,

Yet the hem of her garment remained unfurled

Dark hearts abound, a light to steal,

a glow she has, it shines from within.

Her dress of white untouched by sin.

Unblemished heart this pure one has,

scarred and broken, but whole it remains.

The white dress she wears still bears no stains.

Help from above, alone she stands.

The dust it blows, it swirls, it congeals,

Covers this earth, bypassing her heels.

Her journey ends alone no more,

All dressed in white a multitude roars.

As I look at her so frail and weak,

the words won't come, I cannot speak.

Oh Lord please give us one more day.

but He has come to take her away.

A single tear falls from each eye,

and in my heart I know why.

One was sadness for having to leave,

she knew that we would forever grieve.

The other was joy when she saw His face,

He was taking her to a beautiful place.

My memories of her are precious and sweet,

and someday soon again we will meet.

frightened

hides in her room

and hugs her teddy bear

he's yelling again

and throwing things

and threatening

so she hides under the blankets

and closes her eyes

and sleeps til he's done

she's older now

still frightened, but now a little angry

tired of walking on eggshells

her feet are cut up and bleeding

and she wants a break

from the yelling

and the violence

and the threatening

so she sits in her closet

and closes her eyes

and cries til its done

a teenage girl

full of fear and anger

doesn't know what love is

covered in blood from the eggshells

she needs a break

from the yelling

and the violence

and the threatening

so she lies about where she is

and she ignores the war

and parties away the pain

a young woman

hates who she is

found someone just like him

to fall in love with

maybe she deserves it

all the yelling

and the violence

and the threatening

so she turns to partying

to help with the pain

and ends up pregnant

a single mom

alone, betrayed, hurt

she is confused and scared

and wants to die

she can barely take care of herself

let alone her new baby

but she holds him close to her

and promises

No yelling

No violence

No threatening

I love you and I will keep you safe.

Stuck in my own heart

Longing for his love

Waiting silently

for him to be back

Lost in the rhyme of him,
